Henry S. Cole and Associates, Inc. founded in 1993 is an environmental consulting firm that provides scientific and strategic support to community organizations, local governments, CDC, environmental groups, and businesses. All of the firm’s clients are working to improve environmental health and sustainability. The firm is recipient of the EPA’s Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award for its work in support of arsenic and chromium free pressure treated wood. Henry S. Cole, Ph.D. the President of Henry S. Cole and Associates is an environmental earth scientist with broad and in depth experience on issues involving air pollution, involving facility emissions, air pollution meteorology and source receptor relationships. His experience includes a wide range of pollutants and sources including landfills, incinerators, power plants, cement kilns, and industrial plants.

Dr. Cole has a broad and interdisciplinary background in earth sciences and atmospheric sciences which enables him to provide scientific support and expert opinion on the transport and fate of contaminants in the environment.

Dr. Cole is a member of the American Meteorological Association, the American Chemical Society and Sigma Xi (Research Science Society) and has won awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Sierra Club, and Clean Water Action.  

Hank was born in New York City in 1943 and grew up in Union County New Jersey. He received his BS with high honors at the Rutgers University College of Agriculture and his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in atmospheric sciences (climatology and meteorology).

Hank is married to Claudia Raskin, and is father to a grown daughter (Rachael, Art Director at Random House) and two grown sons (Genya, entering Peace Corps) and Lou (College of Southern Maryland). We in rural Croom, Maryland on our family's organic farm operated in partnership with the Jug Bay Market Garden, a Community Supported Agriculture venture providing fresh, local grown produce to the Washington, DC area.

Hank is a writer, artist, gardener and an avid tennis player.
